Ripley Castle is a Grade I listed 14th-century country house and has been the seat of the Ingleby baronets for centuries.
The castle is still privately owned but open to the public at certain times of the year and for guided tours.
The castle is reputedly haunted by the apparition of a nun who knocks on bedroom doors. However, she will only enter if whoever is in the room says, "Come in".
